These Terms govern your use of the Chord platform at chord.run ("the Service"). By creating an account or deploying code, you agree to them. If you don't, don't use the Service.

Chord lets you write Lua code and deploy it as a hosted application, with built-in database, authentication, transactional email, AI, and templating. We host your code, serve your traffic, store your data, and send email on behalf of the addresses you verify.
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. One person or legal entity per account unless we agree otherwise.
You may not use the Service to:
We monitor bounce and complaint rates on outbound email. Tenants exceeding the thresholds we set (in line with industry standard, ~5% bounce / 0.1% complaint) will have their sending suspended automatically until the source of the problem is addressed.
You keep ownership of the code you deploy and the data your application stores. You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and transmit it as necessary to operate the Service. We don't read your code or data except as needed for support, abuse investigation, or legal compliance.
Sending email through Chord requires verifying ownership of a domain via DKIM records. Once verified, you may send transactional email from addresses on that domain. You're responsible for:
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel at any time; your account remains active until the end of the current billing period. Plan changes take effect at the next renewal.
You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, with notice when feasible. Termination doesn't relieve you of fees already due.
On termination, your data remains available for export for 30 days, then permanently deleted from active systems. Backups are purged within 90 days.
The Chord runtime is licensed under AGPL v3 separately from the Service. Self-hosting it is governed by that license, not by these Terms.
The Service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee uptime, performance, or fitness for a particular purpose beyond what's strictly required by Italian and EU consumer law.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email and on this page at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy, except where mandatory consumer protection rules grant a different competent court to consumers.
